Born in San Francisco, Alicia Lara is a California native. The only child of a mother from El Salvador and a father from Greece, she's also a first generation American. From San Francisco she moved around a bit but eventually returned to California and currently resides in Los Angeles.

In grade school in Oakland, CA. Alicia was an award winning swimmer and ran track, also taking gymnastics, flute and ballet lessons. She moved with her mother to Spokane, WA. where Alicia played on her junior high's basketball team but, more importantly, got her first taste of being onstage while singing in the choir and performing in the musical "Bye Bye Birdie." Although she was chosen to sing solos in the choir, she was not content with just being one of the townspeople in the musical, so somewhere deep inside she set her sights on playing the pivotal roles--the ones that will touch the audience.

Alicia attended St. Mary's College where she received her degree in Business, graduating with honors. While finishing her college degree she began her acting training with teacher Shelley Mitchell (The Actors Center of San Francisco.) After moving to Los Angeles she continued her training with teacher Sal Romeo and at the famed Beverly Hills Playhouse. She most recently has studied with the accomplished teacher Barbara Bain.

Alicia has been a vegetarian since she was a child. Her passions are animals and their welfare, traveling, and film. A city girl that also enjoys getting out in nature, she's traveled throughout Europe, Central America and the United States.

In 2007 Alicia produced the short film "The Track" through her company Green Thumb Productions. She also wrote and directed the film and played the lead character Sabrina. Currently she's developing comedic web series Urban Jungle Dating Dilemmas. She plans to continue producing projects that speak to her in some way.
